What we do

A custom extruder, not a catalogue supplier

Every profile that leaves Saunders Road was drawn for one customer. There is no stock list to pick from — you bring a print, a sample or a problem, and we build the shape that solves it.

Custom profile extrusion

Rigid and flexible profiles built to your specification and tolerances, from a first article to a standing annual program.

In-house engineering & tooling

Dies designed and cut on site by our own team. No outsourcing, no waiting, and no finger-pointing when a profile needs to change.

On-the-fly modification

We adjust and refine tooling during a run, so the profile is dialled in without a long changeover or a second tooling charge.

Short lead times

Design, tooling and extrusion under one roof keeps development moving and gets parts to your floor sooner.

One roof

Concept to production, in one building

Because design, tooling and extrusion all live in the same plant, a profile moves from print to production quickly — and one team stays accountable end to end.

Engineering & design

We take your drawing or your sample and engineer the profile — geometry, material selection, shrink allowance and achievable tolerances.

In-house tooling

The die is cut here, by our people, on our equipment. First shots come off the line in days rather than weeks.

Extrusion & production

We run, inspect and fine-tune on the fly, holding dimension from the first foot to the last, then cut, pack and ship to your schedule.

A world of difference

It has been our motto since 1989, and it is not about the plastic. It is about what happens when the people who design the profile, cut the die and run the line all work in the same building — and answer the same phone.

Where it ends up

One extruder, many industries

Because every profile is custom, our reach follows our customers rather than a product line — from shops down the road to some of the largest companies in the world.

Why us

Owner-operated since 1989

Plas Tech has been designing and producing custom plastic profiles in Barrie since 1989. The people who own the business are in it every day — which is why quality gets held from the first foot to the last.

Everything under one roof

Design, tooling and extrusion in a single building. Nothing is subcontracted, so nothing gets lost between suppliers.

Dies that stay ours

Tooling is cut and maintained on site. When a profile needs a change three years in, the die is still here.

Small enough to answer

You will speak to someone who has seen your part run. Every account gets the same phone number.

Quality, service, value, innovation

The four things the company has sold on for thirty-seven years, and the reason customers stay through generations of buyers.

Plastic Extrusions

Custom profile extrusion

One continuous shape, made to your drawing, in the material the job actually needs. If it has a constant cross-section, it can be extruded — and if it can be extruded, we can tool it here.

The basics

How a custom profile happens

Resin is melted, forced through a die cut to your cross-section, then cooled, sized and pulled to length. Everything that makes the part good — wall consistency, corner definition, dimensional hold — comes from the die and the way the line is run.

Image 05Profile leaving the die head, or a cross-section cut showing wall and chambers

Constant cross-section

Anything with the same shape end to end — channel, angle, tube, trim, gasket carrier, snap-fit, multi-chamber.

Your drawing or your sample

A dimensioned print is ideal. A sketch works. A physical part works — we will measure and reverse-engineer it.

One die, many years

Tooling stays here and stays yours. Re-runs come off the same die, so part three years from now matches part one.

Profiles

Rigid and flexible profiles

Rigid where the part has to hold its shape, carry a load or snap into something. Flexible where it has to seal, cushion, grip or bend around a corner without cracking. Both run on our lines, and a single part can combine the two.

Image 06Rigid PVC trim or channel

Trim & channel

Rigid sections that finish an edge or carry a load — wall and corner protection, transition strips, panel channel and finishing trim.

Image 08Glazing seal seated in a window frame

Window seals & glazing

Glazing beads, gasket carriers and frame profiles for window and door systems — the sections that locate the glass, carry the seal and hold a consistent line along the full length of the frame.

Image 09Clear shower seal fitted to a glass panel

Shower seals & trims

Clear wipes, drip rails and jamb seals that push onto frameless glass and keep water inside the enclosure — alongside the wider flexible range of weather strip, gaskets, panel edging and T-molding.

Shapes

Shapes we run

A rough map of the geometry that comes off our lines. If your part is not on this list, it almost certainly still extrudes — ask.

Tooling

Dies and tooling

The die is where a profile is won or lost. Ours are designed, cut, tuned and maintained in Barrie — which is why a change to your part is a phone call rather than a purchase order to a third party.

Designed for your material

Die geometry compensates for how the specific compound swells and shrinks. The same shape in rigid PVC and in flexible PVC needs two different dies.

Tuned during the run

We adjust on the fly rather than shutting down and re-quoting. Most first articles are dialled in the same day they are first run.

Yours, and kept here

Tooling is stored and maintained on site for repeat orders — no retrieval fees, no lost dies, no re-tooling when you reorder.

Services

What we do around the extrusion

The profile is the product, but it is rarely the whole job. These are the things that happen either side of the line.

Service

Design & engineering

Bring a finished print and we will run it. Bring a napkin sketch, a competitor's part or a problem, and we will engineer the profile with you — geometry, wall thickness, material, shrink and the tolerances the process can actually hold.

Image 31Dimensioned profile drawing

The drawing

Every profile starts as a fully dimensioned section with tolerances called out — wall, radii, snap geometry and overall envelope — drawn here and issued to you for approval before a die is cut.

Image 33Die stack model

The die

The tool is modelled as a stack — breaker, transition and land plates — with the profile aperture developed to compensate for how the specific compound swells and draws down.

Image 32Calibrator / sizing sleeve

The calibrator

Downstream tooling is designed alongside the die. Vacuum-port patterns in the sizing sleeve are laid out to hold the section true as the profile cools.

Design, tooling and downstream hardware are modelled in-house by our own engineering team — nothing in this sequence is subcontracted.

Design for extrusion

Even wall sections, generous radii, draw-down allowance — the changes that make a part cheaper and more consistent to run.

Reverse engineering

Send a sample. We measure it, draw it and quote tooling to reproduce it, including parts whose original supplier is long gone.

Material selection

Cost, clarity, flexibility, UV and temperature all pull in different directions. We recommend the compound that fits the application.

Service

In-house tooling

Every die is designed and cut on site. That single fact is why our development cycle is shorter than a shop that sends tooling out, and why mid-run adjustments do not cost you a second tooling charge.

The practical difference

When a customer calls on Tuesday to say a leg needs to be two thousandths thicker, a shop that outsources tooling opens a purchase order and waits. We walk the die to the bench.

Service

Production

Runs from first article through to standing annual programs, inspected in process and packed the way your floor wants to receive them.

In-process inspection

Dimension checked against the print through the run, not just at the start.

Packed to suit

Boxed, banded, coiled or racked. Tell us how it needs to arrive and we will pack it that way.

Scheduled release

Run once, release monthly. We can hold finished stock against a blanket order.

Service

Cut-to-length & secondary operations

We do more than extrude your profile. Plas Tech offers a range of secondary operations to deliver parts closer to finished and ready for use.

From hole punching, notching and drilling to tape application and assembly, we can incorporate additional processing into your production program — reducing handling, eliminating the need for additional vendors and simplifying your supply chain.

Whether you need a simple cut-to-length profile or a fully finished component ready for installation or assembly, we can build the process around your requirements.

One vendor, fewer hand-offs

Every operation we take on is one your team does not have to schedule, ship or chase. Parts arrive ready for the next step in your process rather than the next supplier in the chain.

Service

Stocking programs

For customers with consistent or repeat demand, Plas Tech can develop custom stocking programs based around your annual requirements. By planning production around forecasted usage, we can manufacture and hold finished inventory for scheduled or on-demand releases throughout the year.

This approach helps reduce lead times, improve product availability and minimize the need to carry excess inventory at your facility. Each stocking program is tailored to your specific volumes, release requirements and purchasing needs — giving you a more reliable and flexible supply of the products you use regularly.

Built on your forecast

We plan production around your annual usage rather than order by order, so the runs are sized to how you actually buy.

Released when you need it

Scheduled or on-demand releases through the year. Your orders pull from finished stock instead of waiting on a lead time.

Inventory held here

Finished goods sit on our floor, not yours — availability without the carrying cost or the warehouse space.

Tailored to your terms

Volumes, release schedule and purchasing arrangements are set around your requirements, not a standard package.

Worth a conversation if you reorder

If you are buying the same profile more than once or twice a year, a stocking program is usually the cheaper and faster way to buy it. Tell us your annual volume and we will put numbers to it.

Materials

The compound is half the part

Geometry decides what a profile does. Material decides whether it survives. We extrude a broad range, including compounds many custom shops will not run.

Full range

What we extrude

Colour

Custom colours & material options

Colour can be an important part of both product performance and brand identity. Plas Tech can incorporate a wide range of colours into your custom extrusion, from standard colour options to colours developed specifically for your application.

For customers requiring a specific finish, we can facilitate custom colour matching to achieve the colour consistency your product demands. Whether matching an existing component, supporting a branded product line or developing something completely new, we can work with our material and colour partners to build the right formulation for your extrusion.

Depending on the material and application, we can also work with customers to explore specialized additives and material formulations, including UV requirements and other performance characteristics.

Match an existing part

Send the component you need to match. We work with our colour partners to build a formulation that holds against it run after run.

Carry a brand colour

Profiles that sit in a branded product line can be run to your colour standard rather than to a stock approximation.

Additives & performance

UV packages and other performance characteristics can be specified into the compound where the material and application allow.

A world of difference,
since 1989

Thirty-seven years of custom plastic profiles out of one plant in Barrie, Ontario — for shops down the road and for some of the largest companies in the world.

About

The company

Plas Tech Extrusions has been designing and producing precision-engineered custom plastic profiles since 1989. The people who own the business are in it every day, which is why quality gets held from the first foot of a run to the last.

Our mission has not changed: provide the highest level of customer service and the plastic profile solutions that bring success to your projects.

Quality

Held from the first foot to the last, and checked through the run rather than only at the start.

Service

You speak to someone who has seen your part run. Every account gets the same phone number.

Value

Tooling that stays here, runs that are dialled in quickly, and no second charges for changes we can make on the fly.

Innovation

Thirty-seven years of solving profile problems that other shops turned down.

Go Green

Sustainability

At Plas Tech, we believe responsible manufacturing means continually looking for ways to reduce waste, reuse materials and make better use of resources throughout our operation.

Our approach to sustainability starts on the production floor. We work to minimize manufacturing scrap and identify opportunities to recover, reprocess and reuse material wherever the application allows. We have also invested in equipment, material-handling practices and processes designed to reduce waste and improve the efficiency of our manufacturing operations.

Working closely with our customers and material suppliers, we can also explore recycled and reprocessed material options for applications where performance requirements allow.

The goal, plainly

From responsible material use to reducing unnecessary waste, our goal is straightforward: manufacture high-quality plastic extrusions while continually reducing the environmental impact of how we produce them.
